(DULUTH) - Duluth Sunday defeated the Packers in a game marked by numerous fumbles by the Green Bay pros, which were recovered almost every time by their opponents. The touchdown came on a pass, Rooney to Underwood, from the 22-yard line in the final period, after Cub Buck had kicked a field goal in the third. The Packers blocked three kicks, but the Duluth gridders succeeded in recovering the ball, and the Green Bay eleven was outplayed throughout the game.

The visitors had already won from the Chicago Boars and proved just as tough as expected. Despite the fact that the Cubs-White Sox city series was on, a record breaking crowd jammed Normal Park for the contest.

Green Bay intercepted one of Conzelman's heaves from a fake place kick formation. Buck passed to Lambeau over the goal line. Buck kicked goal. (GREEN BAY) - A sensational catch of a forward pass by Tillie Voss after being knocked to the ground behind the Racine goal line enabled the Packers to defeat the Legion. The Green Bay touchdown came on the opening play in the fourth quarter. A fumble during the first scrimmage of the game gave Racine the ball on the Packers' 15-yard line and Gillo lost little time in kicking field goal for Racine's points.
September 21: Green Bay 5, Chicago Bears o
(GREEN BAY) - The Packers defeated the Bears in a bitterly contested football argument before a capacity crowd Sunday. Haney was dumped behind his own goal line for a safety in the second period, while Cub Buck booted a placement between the uprights for the Packers in the fourth period. The Bears found the going pretty tough during the encounter and only three times during the fray were they close enough for Dutch Sternaman to attempt field goals. He missed all three of them. The Packers' aerial attack was pretty well snubbed by the Bruins, but the Packers varied their offense by smashing the line for substantial gains.

November 23: Chicago (4-1-4) 3, Green Bay (6-3) 0
(CHICAGO) - Little Joe Sternaman kicked his usual goal from field Sunday afternoon
at the Cubs Park, and the Bears whitewashed the Packers. Some day, he is liable to misfire, and one shudders to think what'll happen to the Bears. His brilliant performances from the 29-yard line during the third quarter was but one of the many exciting incidents of the afternoon. One minute before the game ended, George Halas intercepted a forward pass on the Green Bay 5-yard line. Two plays netted two yards, and the gun sounded with the Bears three yards from a possible touchdown.

November 30: Racine (4-3-3) 7, Green Bay (7-4) 0
(RACINE) - Racine outpassed the Packers, thus tying the Bays for the state pro title. Johnny Mohardt, regarded by critics as the greatest passer of all time, was largely responsible for the victory. He threw eight passes, six of which were completed for a total of 140 yards and none were intercepted. His pitching was nigh perfect, the only score of the day resulting from one of them to Romney in the first quarter. Racine made ten first downs to four for the Packers. Two of the Packer downs were on forwards and two penalties, not one on straight football. Of the seventeen Bay passes only five were completed, five intercepted. The visitors scored what looked like a TD in the third quarter, on a pass, but the ball was called back when Tillie Voss was offside.

1924 IN REVIEW: In their second season at Bellevue Park, the Packers won all five games at home allowing only three points in the process. However, on the road, they struggled, winning only 2 of 6 games, including a shut-out loss in Chicago to the Bears. On September21, the Packers defeated the Bears for the first time (5-0), but the game didn’t count in the standings because the season hadn’t officially started. To this day, the NFL does not recognize the game; instead, the league puts the start of the Packers season on September 28.
